About the Speaker
Dr. Joseph LaPlaca, OD, is an optometrist licensed in Indiana and the founder of Ares Elite Sports Vision in Carmel, Indiana (founded 2018). He has nearly 19 years of clinical experience, 8.5 in sports vision and cognitive performance, and runs the practice’s sports vision evaluations. The practice has completed 2,500+ evaluations and 8,000 training sessions (45 minutes each), with 800,000+ data points recorded.
His work covers neurocognitive sports training, sports vision and human performance metrics. He has designed and integrated performance training programs for professional motorsports teams and drivers, college athletes, and high-G environment professionals.
In talks and workshops, Dr. LaPlaca explains neuroscience and visual-cognitive research in practical terms for athletes, coaches and corporate leaders.
